Hi, I'm TONY

ABOUT ME

Being involved in neighborhood issues since the 1990 bond election, which affected water and sewer service in NE GP, my experience has brought many positive results to District 5 as I worked with all segments of the community.

Together, we accomplished many improvements including the reimagining and rebirth of the Uptown Theater, the opening of the Farmers Market, the utilization of the Hill Street Park, as well as paving the roads and sidewalks in NE GP of the “Tree Streets,” putting in new water lines and rebuilding Capetown Street, the NE 33rd Street Pocket Park, and new streets and sewer lines in Saddle Hills.

Working with the Garcia Elementary leadership and PTA, the Optimist Club, and those in the neighborhood, I was instrumental in the opening of the first multi-use center in GP at Bowles Park. This combined recreation center and branch library serves what was a very underserved community, with programs in both English and Spanish. The Center includes a full gym with optional trainers and sports leagues. The public library branch has free Internet access and is well stocked with books and materials for adults and kids in both English and Spanish. This facility is the model for the other multi use facilities in GP, like the Summit, the Epic, and others.
